According to their website, the museum “aims to explore and celebrate the innovative leadership and values that have shaped the community and to provide educational opportunities which connect the past to the present and enhance the quality of life.”

The Clement Railroad Hotel Museum is located at 100 Frank Clement Pl, Dickson, TN 37055. It’s open Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and on Saturdays from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

Permanent Exhibits at the Clement Railroad Hotel Museum

Among the many permanent exhibits at the museum is the Train Room. This includes a collection of artifacts highlighting the heritage and history of the railroad in the area. There is also a hands-on display of the steam engine. You’ll also find the Clement Rooms at the museum on a permanent basis. According to the museum’s website, “The Clement family rooms are furnished to represent the early 1920s when Belle Goad, Maybelle, and Robert Clement lived in the managerial suite of rooms on the first floor.” Visitors will also want to check out the Civil War, Dickson Model Railroad Display, and Cumberland Furnace & Iron Ore Industry exhibits at the Clement Railroad Hotel Museum.

A Brief History of the Clement Railroad Hotel Museum

According to the museum’s website, “The Hotel Halbrook, home of the Clement Railroad Hotel Museum, was constructed in 1913 and is one of the few remaining examples of a railroad hotel in a small Tennessee town. It functioned as a working man’s hotel until 1954.”

In 2009, the site was once again opened to the public and became officially known as the Clement Railroad Hotel Museum. The museum now sports many artifacts and items that once belonged to Governor Clement and his family.
